Kaboomle

Kaboomle is a spell in the Dragon Quest series. It is the strongest of the bang family of spells and atomizes all targets with an earth-shaking, megaton explosion of photons.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

Kaboomle is available only to Sages at level 66. It costs 56 MP to cast and is of the lightning/explosion element, dealing a minimum of 200~220 and maximum of 470~490.

Dragon Quest X

Kaboomle can only be learned by a Sage who has added 130 points to their Enlightenment skill tree. The MP cost is 25, the casting time is 50 seconds, and the distance covered is an 8 meter radius around the caster. The minimum power is 290~310 Light damage, with the maximum being calculated as (Magical might - 400) x0.64 + 290~310 for 682~702 at 999 magical might. When the Sage's magical might surpasses 999 thanks to buff application, the spell's formula changes to (Magical might - 999) /3 + 682~702 for 849~869 at 1,500 magical might.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Veronica will learn Kaboomle after mastering her Spellcraft skill tree. It costs 60 MP to cast and will deal 344~376 light-element damage, hitting for 704~736 damage once her magical might reaches 900.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Kaboomle costs 45 MP to cast and hits for 195~215 base damage. Once a monster's wisdom surpasses 603, the spell will grow in power until 999 wisdom, when it hits for 319~339. It can be learned from:

Kaboomle costs 60 MP to cast and deals 218~241 damage. Once the monster's wisdom rises over 500, the force of the explosion will increase until it deals at 684~756 at 3,999 wisdom.

Terry's Wonderland 3D & Iru and Luca's Marvelous Mysterious Key

Kaboomle has the same MP cost and damage range as in Joker 3.

Enemy versions

When cast by a Legacy Boss in IX, damage is calculated as (100+(lvl^2/23))*0.95~1.1), setting the min and max ranges as 195~238 and 499~552 respectively.
