Fizzle is a recurring spell in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in the original game, it is a spell attempts to seal the spells of the target/targets, preventing them from casting magic.

Appearances

Dragon Quest

Learned at level 10. It costs 2 MP to use it against an enemy, and it stops them from casting spells. Some enemies will not be affected, such as scorpions, because they do not have any spells.

Dragon Quest II

The Prince of Cannock learns Fizzle at level 8.

Dragon Quest III

The Hero learns Fizzle at level 18, and Priests and Sages learn it at level 13. It can also be cast by using the Staff of antimagic and Staff of Rain during battle.

Fizzle is learned by Kiryl at level 13.
