Platypunk the Sage

Platypunk the Sage is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3.

It is a high-ranking variant of the Platypunk that has achieved enlightenment and become a Sage.

Characteristics[edit]

Platypunk the Sages are short, round creatures with the same duckbill, avian claws, and familiar Mohawk hairstyle of their species but with reddish-orange fur with darker red hair on top of their heads and around their eyes, as well as at the end of their long monkey-like tails. Much like how a Crack-billed platypunk became a Mage after attaining knowledge, these Platypunks have achieved even greater spellcasting ability and are among the wisest of all monsters. Its appearances have been limited to spinoff games in the series.

Platypunk the Sage makes its first appearance in the series as a B-rank monster of the Beast family.

Dragon Quest Rivals[edit]

Platypunk the Sage appeared in the 8th card pack, "Get Rich Quick! Casino Paradise" as a normal card exclusive for Fortune Teller leaders.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit]

Platypunk the Sage appears as an A-rank monster of the Beast family during the third part of the limited Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker event alongside Wildcard on its banner.
