Frost wyvine

From Dragon Quest Wiki

The frost wyvine is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is an ice dragon composed of frost-covered vines that has been brought to life. Its name is a play on "wyvern", a type of dragon, and vine.

Characteristics[edit]

Frost wyvines are dragons animated from icy blue thorny vines that make their home in the coldest regions of the world. Unlike its fellow thorny dragons, the frost wyvine takes a more supportive role in battle, using its magic to heal its allies. They still retain the familiar ability to entangle an enemy with their vines. Thankfully, the icy dragons will fall quickly if burned down with fire magic.
