Dark Machinations, is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series. It is a skill often used by Nokturnus and his pallet-swap variants in which they divide their double-bladed sword and deliver a series of supercharged slashes at blinding speed.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light[edit]
Making its debut, it is already learned by Nokturnus, dealing slashing damage 6 times to all random enemies while potentially lowering their DEF by 1 level and costs 60 MP to use.
Dragon Quest Treasures[edit]
Dark Machinations serves as the Dragon Attack for the Loss leader monster line. When used, they perform a slashing technique at blistering speed with their two swords, inflicting major darkness slashing damage on all enemies.
Dragon Quest Tact[edit]
Dark Machinations can be learned by Nokturnus through Talent Blossoming and costs 86 MP to use. It has a range of two squares in front of him and inflicts 80% potency physical damage to random enemies five times in a rectangular area of effect and can rarely lower their DEF. Upgrading the skill increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to use.
