The Not-colossal fossil is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a small fossil left behind by a prehistoric sea creature that is used as a crafting material.

Dragon Quest X[edit]

Not-colossal fossils are used as a material for crafting weapons and armour or in alchemy to add an effect to equipment that will give the wearer a chance to a cast a spell or use a skill without consuming MP. It can be purchased from a material store for 150 gold each, picked up from sparkly spots, or dropped by certain monsters such as Mad moles.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit]

Not-colossal fossils can be dropped by Muddy hands and Zombie gladiators, received from King Flaminio in exchange for 3 mini medals, or received as a reward for beating the Grudge Match: Sinister Statue with silver or gold clear time. It can be used in the quick recipe for the Lucky dragon's wing or the classic recipes for the Gold bracer and Gold chain in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 36 gold coins.

Dragon Quest Heroes II: Twin Kings and the Prophecy's End[edit]

Not-colossal fossils are used as a material to improve various accessories or sold for 36 gold coins. It can be dropped by Muddy hands and Minidemons.
