Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
Gobstopper is used by monsters such as the crack-billed platypunk and prevents characters from casting spells, working like a skill-version of Fizzle. This is likely due to Hot Lick being the only breath attack the player has access to. This is an interesting departure from the series' tradition, as spells were previously depicted as not being dependent on vocalized chants to manifest.
Dragon Quest Monsters
Gobstopper (known as MouthShut in this game) shuts one foe's mouth shut for 4~6 turns, and costs 6 MP to use. It requires the monster to be at least level 17 with 120 HP, 100 Strength, and 140 Agility to learn. The Platypunk, SpotKing, Spooky, and Toadstool naturally learn the skill.

The requirement to learn MouthShut are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the ArrowDog, Pyuro and RayGigas.
